Free horror game for mobile

Amanda the Adventurer is a free game developed by SooVoo Pro Games. This is a horror game where you watch and play along with a TV show for old kids. It follows a little brave girl named Amanda with her only companion sheep named Wooly.

The gameplay of Amanda the Adventurer is educational despite having a horror premise. In the game, Amanda will ask you to perform various tasks, including asking questions and spelling out a few words. If you get anything wrong, you will be stuck in the game. Watch out, though. There are scenes not for the faint-hearted.

Not your typical kids' show

Amanda the Adventurer will have you watch an old TV show for kids you found in the attic. It stars a little girl named Amanda, who goes on an adventure with her cowardly companion sheep named Wooly. Like the popular Dora the Explorer show, Amanda asks you questions and will even have you complete tasks, such as spelling words or finding a thing or two on the screen.

Like other similar games, you will be stuck in the gameplay if you answer or get anything wrong. However, there is more to Amanda than meets the eye. If she gets sufficiently agitated, she may display her true colors. If this happens, you will be treated to a frightening scene. You will have to brace yourself every time you replace each VHS with the next one.

As mentioned, this is a short horror game. There are only three episodes to go through. If you don't make any mistakes, you can complete the story within five minutes. More than the short gameplay, players will also be disappointed to know that the game comes with tons of ads. Not only that, but the app itself is quite laggy, rendering the game unplayable.

Is Amanda the Adventurer a real TV show?

Simply put, Amanda the Adventurer is not a real television show. However, Amanda’s character is said to be largely inspired by Dora the Explorer, seeing as there are some parallels between the two. There are similarities between the two titles’ names as well as Amanda and Dora having animal sidekicks. However, besides that, there are no more instances of resemblance.

Some technical improvements

Since the game’s release, multiple improvements and patches have been made for it so far. All of these are based on the players’ submitted feedback, which is highly vital in ensuring that the improvements made are going to be beneficial. Some of these include fixing the bugs in the Everything Rots alternate version so that the clips will work smoothly on the machines. Lines in the Polish and Korean text translations are optimized, too, removing unnecessary characters. The issue about corrupted saves has been fixed as well. Plus, re-mapping mouse-bound controls is removed from the settings.

Should you play it?

If you are into horror games, Amanda the Adventurer is worth picking up. It has simple gameplay made more interesting by the horror elements that creep up on you when you least expect it. However, the gameplay is too short that you can complete it within minutes. Not only that, but the app is also laggy and full of ads.

PROS

  • Simple gameplay
  • Lightweight
  • Classic-game like graphics

CONS
